Mark your calendar for this year’s Patriot Day Rally in Naples. The rally will include an escorted ride through Collier County ending at the Seminole Casino in Immokalee and a chance to win a 2010 Harley Davidson Street Glider & Kendon Single Trailer. The raffle is scheduled to take place at 4:30 pm Saturday.

Anyone interested in driving with in a caravan to the registration  and start point, with Naples Motorsports, should rendezvous in the parking lot at Naples Motorsports between 8:45 and 9 am on Saturday morning. At 9 am everyone will proceed from the dealership on to the Water Park for registration.

The Collier County Regional Water Park is located immediately south of the Immokalee Road on the east side of Livingston Road. The registration area will be located in the most northeastern part of the park (at the soccer fields area) and participants will be guided in by signage.

Registration is $20 per vehicle, meal tickets will be available for $5 and long-sleeve rally shirts will also be on sale for $20. VIP vehicle registration is $50 which includes one rally long sleeve pull over shirt, commemorative ride pin, meal ticket and, of course access to the event.

Classic Sports Sunday Meets in Palm Beach..The exceptional week of Cavallino Classic activity in January of 2010 will be suitably crowned by an exclusive Sunday program. Classic Sports Sunday will be held for its ninth year at Mar-a-Lago, the legendary Marjorie Merriweather Post mansion in Palm Beach.

Classic Sports Sunday has been expanded in the last two years to include extraordinary pre- and post-war classic sporting automobiles. The response of significant vehicles from the Mar-a-Lago era has been rewarding, and this will continue on January 24, 2010 with many supremely elegant examples on display. The setting will be superb as always, with the historic and restored mansion and the pristine grounds adding to the tropical splendor.

120 vintage and classic sporting automobiles will be presented on the lawn. During the morning, refreshments will be served as participants and guests vote for their favorite automobiles in several categories. A jury of international automotive experts will also judge the examples by class.

There will be over sixty Ferraris of all types and years, from a 166 MM to the latest 458 Italia. Among the other marques will be historic pre-war Alfa Romeos, elegant Aston Martins, racing and production Jaguars, Maserati race and street cars, futuristic Lamborghinis, stately Mercedes-Benz, grand old Rolls-Royce and Bentleys, lovely Delahayes and Bugattis, plus un- usual but superb examples of coachbuilt Fiats, Lancias, Lagondas, Talbot-Lagos and others.

All the Awards will be presented at the charity brunch at noon in the exquisite setting of the Mar-a-Lago ballroom. The Major Awards, the Palm Beach Cups, will be voted on by the participants and guests. The Class Awards, representing Best in Class and Excellence in Class, will be voted on by the distinguished Jury.

The 19th Annual Palm Beach Cavallino Classic will be presented in Palm Beach, Florida at The Breakers Resort Hotel, on January 19 to 24, 2010.

This extraordinary gathering is a six day convention for Ferrari owners and enthusiasts, with participants and their 400 Ferraris attending from the U.S. and Europe.

Benefiting from the Palm Beach Cavallino Classic are several important charities: the Children’s Wish Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club and the American Council of the Blind Scholarship Fund.

The first major event of the convention is the presti- gious Florida Trophy, a two day track meet at the new Palm Beach International Raceway on Thursday and Friday, January 21 & 22. Over 120 competition Ferraris revive memories of days gone by, as their owners let them loose again in a race course setting.

The second major event is the Tour of Palm Beach on Thursday, January 21. Up to 80 vintage and classic Ferraris tour through Palm Beach and along the Atlantic coastal roads. They leave from The Breakers and make stops at The Ritz-Carlton, Mar-a-Lago, and The Chesterfield Hotel, with a destination at Jet Aviation for the exclusive Jet Reception.

The high point of the week is the Concorso d’Ele- ganza on the front lawn of The Breakers Resort Hotel, on Saturday, January 23. 150 immaculate Ferrari automobiles are judged by leading international experts for originality and elegance, for Class Awards and the important Major Cups, along with The Cavallino Cup for Best in Show.

This exceptional week is crowned with an exclusive Sunday program… our Classic Sports Sunday at The Mar- a-Lago Club, the legendary Marjorie Merriweather Post mansion in old Palm Beach. 120 vintage and classic sport- ing automobiles from this romantic era are displayed on the lawn and the guests vote for their favorites. 2009 marked the 50th anniversary of Porsche’s MINI brand, and Braman MINI ensured the MINI’s birthday bash was everything but!  It was “Start Your Engines!” at Braman MINI’s 50th Anniversary Birthday Bash to benefit The Lord’s Place this past Sunday at the Palm Beach International Raceway.MINI automobiles converged from as far as Jacksonville, Florida to attend – many in convoys. The largest MINI convoy of over 60 MINI’s left from Braman MINI in West Palm Beach to get to the track.

“Imagine a row of over 60 MINI’s travelling on Flagler, PGA Blvd. and the Beeline Highway – you should have seen the onlookers waving in excitement!” stated Kim Duprille, one Braman MINI owner who was part of the convoy.  On arrival to the motoring event, they and hundreds of others were treated to an open track day to put their cars through the paces on PBIR’s pro drag strip and slalom course. All day go-kart racing and watching performance and professional race cars make laps around the 2-mile PBIR Road Course were enjoyed by all.  Over 100 door prizes included T-Shirts, car washes and copies of the ‘Italian Job’ blockbuster featuring the MINI Cooper.

Blogs from Facebook to Twitter and all in between were alive with buzz about the event and bloggers on MINI Club sites such as Sunshine MINI’s shared drag strip times and chat pronouncing “Great Event”, “Great Turnout”, “Beat your time by a hair”, and even “Just got home and I’m wiped” were evident late through Sunday evening.

Car show competitions and entertainment by the hit band Ever So Klever kept the crowd lively and a Kid’s village kept the young ones interested and engaged.

“We had a blast” stated Neil Archer, President of the popular Wheels Across the Pond Club who was seen on many Slalom runs.

“Awesome” pronounced Jacksonville Area MINI’s (JAM) Club President Debbie Jeffrey. “I drove 298 miles for this and wow!” she concluded. Jeffrey’s JAM Club scooped up several prizes, including the MINI Club with the Mostest $500 prize for most contestants participating (handicap modified).Vlad Kleynburg also propelled JAM top gram the “Most Competitive Club” trophy by picking up the most wins club member wins with his ‘best drag’ and ‘best in show’ wins.  Jose Nasciomento grabbed first place trophy on the Slalom course in his MINI and kids medal winners included Nedrick McKoy, Natalie & Christian Orth, Luke Rinehart and Noah McCoy in Kid competitions.

“Helping The Lord’s Place is a great activity for our staff and management to be involved with” stated Vince Cerone, Braman Motorcars General Manager and COO. “The funds raised at this event represent not only our contribution, but that of every Braman customer. There is a percentage of every car purchased that goes to a good cause to help others and we could not do so without a healthy business and loyal customer base” Cerone continued.

Funds raised from the event will help supply hot meals to homeless men, women, and children while they connect with community resources at our Engagement Center.  Job Training and Placement program participants will not have to walk in the heat of summer to find work but will be able to receive a bus pass from Cafe Joshua. Individuals and families at our residential campuses will receive the personalized support services they need to be able to stabilize their lives and work toward their goals of exiting homelessness.  The Lord’s Place is dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness by providing innovative, compassionate, and effective services to men, women, and children in our community.

Jan Phillips, director of administration, human resources, and volunteers stated that “all of the clients who volunteered for the event had such a great time and now want to know when they can do it again!”

“Kudos to the Braman family for a fun-filled day. You guys worked very hard to put on a great event. We are pleased to have Braman Motorcars as one of our community partners. Together as a community we can end homelessness one person, one life at a time. ” Phillips concluded.
