Sarasota artist, Timothy Raines was chosen by Aston Martin North America to showcase his work at the annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance.  Tim painted live during the main event in front of the record breaking crowd on hand at the Ritz-Carlton.

Aston Martin debuted with a splash at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, showcasing their entire line of automobiles but with particular focus on the new four-door Rapide, The World’s Most Beautiful Four-Door Sports Car.  To emphasize the artistic nature of their automobiles, automotive artist Timothy Raines (www.timothyraines.com) was on hand to paint the Aston Martin logo as well as displaying a stunning interpretation of The Flag of the United Kingdom and an abstract Nautilus shell, a symbol of perfection and purity that happens to be a brand signature of both the artist and the Aston Martin Rapide.

The Amelia Island Concours is well know for the rolling art as well as outstanding automotive fine art and the artwork of Timothy Raines was clearly “Best of Show” at this years event. In Florida, Tim’s work can be seen every 3rd Saturday morning at duPont Registry’s Cars and Coffee event.

In the 1970’s Gartel’s idea of using computers to manipulate images as art became fodder for skeptics to throw back their heads and laugh at.  After all, digital cameras and personal computers had not yet been invented, so the concept blew way over the heads of many.

Her work on silk prepared the ground for her perception of the world as a block of colours and shapes. In the past, Olivia’s silk paintings have been exhibited in the USA, Canada, Mexico and France. Not content with the two dimensional feel of silk painting, Olivia started to expand her appreciation of other artistic media, including pastels which allowed a more flowing and more subtle expression, and she turned her hand to Interior Design and Public Art.

The process of her development across and through these quite different media has resulted in the intriguing blend of subtlety and brashness which is manifested in her current collection of paintings in acrylic and mixed media, on canvas.  She has always been intrigued by the industrial world.  Her earliest memory of iconic pieces of engineering are the Quebec Bridge and the Eiffel Tower, which inspired her vision.

The fascinating environment of the world of Formula One offers fertile ground for exploring the balance between mechanical shapes and the designers and drivers who set them in motion. The result is a dynamic cocktail of colours and industrial shapes which, through their sensitive juxtaposition, draws the viewer into an exciting world.

Olivia was nominated for the SPORTS ARTIST OF THE YEAR AWARD 2007, the only woman among the six finalists.

Latvian-born Viktorija Bulava has emerged in the United States and worldwide as a successful artist, recently gaining recognition for her work with fine classic automobile forms combined with the always classic and beautiful female form.  Her self-proclaimed “auto-erotica” showcases her refined and unique techniques which include mixed media oils, gold and silver leaf and washed on linen.  Bulava earned her Masters of Art and Science from the Latvian Academy of Arts painting department in 1996 and is a member of the Artists Union of Lativia.

Graceful and flowing, Viktorija’s auto-erotica features lush, rich colors and maintains her themes of dance and rhythm. Her work is immaculately executed, clearly proving her ability utilize her refined, often complex techniques.  The automotive forms and the female forms compliment eachother perfectly, both eminating an aura of sensuality and power, while remailing feminine and delicate.

Bulava’s works are featured in the Citadelle Art Foundation in Texas, among many others worldwide.  She’s hosted solo exhibitions in her home country of Latvia as well as Denmark and Canada.  She is featured in local galleries and is part of private collections in Canada, LAtvia, Germany, Denmark and Finland.

Kobayashi immediately associated this car to his most loved comics and manga’s vehicles, like Kaneda’s bike in Akira or the Batmobile. The only difference… Codatronca is real!

SVS asked the director to take as much time as needed to craft the best possible experience and gave him complete creative freedom and a high budget for the entire production. Kobayashi wanted to maintain total control over the production process, so, thanks to his 360° skills, he took care of every single aspect of modeling, animation, rendering, compositing, editing and sound design by himself alone.

He decided to create a Digital Anime settled in Tokyo, all centered around the car’s incredible driving qualities. To emphasize the beautiness of its design he rendered the environment and the vehicle with two different styles. The result is a clash between photorealistic 3D and painted 2D images.

Kobayashi also worked on a cinematographic soundtrack, made by the engine’s sounds mixed with an highly addictive music theme.

In the 1970′s Gartel’s idea of using computers to manipulate images as art became fodder for skeptics to throw back their heads and laugh at.  After all, digital cameras and personal computers had not yet been invented, so the concept blew way over the heads of many.  With persistence, and dedication, however, Gartel, inspired by the work of Rauschenberg himself, was able to bring his visions to life.  Using unique, although complicated methods, Gartel pioneered the computer art, or new media territory that we see everywhere today.  Gartel has had exhibits at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City and in London at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

The Bob Rauschenberg Gallery hours are 10am-4pm Monday-Friday and 11am-3pm Saturday.  The exhibit runs through Obtober 10th.

The new collection is unlike anything he has done before, “I’ve combined my life experiences, the way I see things now, Japanese culture, which has always fascinated me, American way of life, pop art and the comics of my time.”

He uses bright colors, and the result is a high energy series that can help you get back in touch with your youth “and I want everyone to feel like I do, like they can be in touch with their inner child again.” Furthermore, he says he wants people to feel just as alive and just as passionate about life as he does, so he says that he wants people who look at his artwork to feel that same fervor.

Amazingly, he doesn’t limit his mediums. He melds photography, computer graphics, pastels, paint and fabric to create his wide variety of individual art pieces. And as he referenced Andy Warhol, he says that he does not like to imitate anyone, “but I have many artists that have influenced me from the Pop era, but because I view life differently, I cannot create artwork imitating anyone,” and he continues by saying that he has his own identity and that he has found the way to do things his way. He also enjoys painting people, as he feels it’s important to give every individual a legacy. He as well, claims he paints people even more beautiful than they are “because I paint people as I feel them.”

The foundation of his current series is being able to achieve dreams in a country that has given him the opportunity to make his childhood dreams of being a successful artist come true. He says that this country has changed him in a positive way so now he feels it is his obligation in life to one day go back to Ecuador to find young artists and help them develop a path that will also make them just as successful, “I want to share with others who are less fortunate what I have experienced being here in this country.”

Leonardo has lived in Miami since the 90’s but has also lived in Arizona, where he went to ASU Tempe, and then later studied at the Fort Lauderdale Art Institute. Since then he has travelled around Europe and South America where he further cultivated his art skills. He began painting at a very young age after his grandmother taught him the technical aspects of drawing and painting. But throughout his life, his source of inspiration has always been his mother.
