Mark your calendar for this year’s Patriot Day Rally in Naples. The rally will include an escorted ride through Collier County ending at the Seminole Casino in Immokalee and a chance to win a 2010 Harley Davidson Street Glider & Kendon Single Trailer. The raffle is scheduled to take place at 4:30 pm Saturday.

Anyone interested in driving with in a caravan to the registration  and start point, with Naples Motorsports, should rendezvous in the parking lot at Naples Motorsports between 8:45 and 9 am on Saturday morning. At 9 am everyone will proceed from the dealership on to the Water Park for registration.

The Collier County Regional Water Park is located immediately south of the Immokalee Road on the east side of Livingston Road. The registration area will be located in the most northeastern part of the park (at the soccer fields area) and participants will be guided in by signage.

Registration is $20 per vehicle, meal tickets will be available for $5 and long-sleeve rally shirts will also be on sale for $20. VIP vehicle registration is $50 which includes one rally long sleeve pull over shirt, commemorative ride pin, meal ticket and, of course access to the event.

On April 25, 2010 – Exotics Rally will host it’s 3rd Miami Airport Runway event at: Miami-Dade Transitional Training Center 54575 Tamiami Trail Ochopee, FL 34141. Exotic Rally will be renting this private 2 mile airport for the full day.

The event will be split into 3 sessions. 1 Mile top speed competition, Straight TOP SPEED competition, and finally Head to Head racing.

Included will be a comfort tent, catered Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks and Drinks throughout the day. A mechanic will be on hand for any troubling quick issues and tech inspection. All vehicles participating must have seat belts and occupants of vehicle must wear helmets while on the runway.

EMS & Fire Dept will be on hand for safety.

The results are in. The RM’s Collector Car Auction of Ft. Lauderdale, closed with strong results! Of a total 365 cars sold, 138 cars were from the O’Quinn car collection. Among the highlights was a 1935 Auburn 851 SC Convertible that set the event’s record with $211,750.

RM Auctions, the world’s largest collector car auction house, completed its second March sale in the Sunshine State with the Collector Cars of Fort Lauderdale event this past weekend at the Broward County Convention Center. In all 365 cars sold achieving $16 million in total sales and a solid 79% percent sell through rate.

“The combination of interested bidders in attendance, on the phone and over the Internet produced an exciting sale in Fort Lauderdale, with many lots surpassing their pre-sale estimates,” said Donnie Gould, RM partner and 30-year veteran of the collector car market.

RM once again represented automobiles from the estate of Mr. John M. O’Quinn. A total of 138 O’Quinn motor cars, all offered without reserve, crossed the block in Fort Lauderdale, representing $6,843,000 million in sales.

The top-seller of the weekend was a well-documented and restored 1935 Auburn 851 SC Convertible Sedan, from the O’Quinn estate, which brought $211,750.

Other high sales include:
a dashing 1931 Cadillac Model 370-A V12 Convertible Coupe for $209,000;
a 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640also for $209,000;
a perfectly restored 1954 Buick Skylark Convertible for $187,000;
a majestic 1935 Packard Twelve Convertible Sedan, from the O’Quinn estate, for $165,000; and,
a high-quality 1969 Ford Boss 429 Mustang, from the O’Quinn estate, for $151,250

Sarasota artist, Timothy Raines was chosen by Aston Martin North America to showcase his work at the annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance.  Tim painted live during the main event in front of the record breaking crowd on hand at the Ritz-Carlton.

Aston Martin debuted with a splash at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, showcasing their entire line of automobiles but with particular focus on the new four-door Rapide, The World’s Most Beautiful Four-Door Sports Car.  To emphasize the artistic nature of their automobiles, automotive artist Timothy Raines (www.timothyraines.com) was on hand to paint the Aston Martin logo as well as displaying a stunning interpretation of The Flag of the United Kingdom and an abstract Nautilus shell, a symbol of perfection and purity that happens to be a brand signature of both the artist and the Aston Martin Rapide.

The Amelia Island Concours is well know for the rolling art as well as outstanding automotive fine art and the artwork of Timothy Raines was clearly “Best of Show” at this years event. In Florida, Tim’s work can be seen every 3rd Saturday morning at duPont Registry’s Cars and Coffee event.

The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company is welcoming all Palm Beach-area automotive enthusiasts to bring their vehicles to Wayne Akers Ford on March 28, 2010, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., for the 3rd Annual Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Cruise-In. Entry into the car show is free and all makes and models are welcome. Barrett-Jackson officials will be on hand to meet enthusiasts, judge entries and present three “Barrett-Jackson Choice Awards.” A “People’s Choice Award” will also be voted on by car show participants.

The first 100 registered entries will receive two free tickets to the 8th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Palm BeachApril 1-3, 2010, at the Americraft Expo Center at the South Florida Fairgrounds. Hot dogs, hamburgers and additional refreshments will be on sale to benefit charity, along with a “split-the-pot” raffle.
